Humphreys.I love to create and share music, stories, poetry, and philosophy. Based in Spokane, Washington, I've been playing guitar and singing publicly since 1995, writing and publishing poetry and prose since 1996, and teaching English Language Arts and history professionally since 2013.Scroll down for links and more information about my work!

Work: Music

Over the last 30 years, I've been fortunate to be able to tour with some of my all-time musical heroes, and to play live music all over the western United States — I've even allowed me to play for folks in both Canada and Mexico! I typically play guitar-driven rock and roll, but I'm also heavily influenced by traditional blues, folk, and country music as well. I like to write strong, memorable melodies atop straight-forward chord progressions and structures, and sprinkle that with multi-part vocal harmonies for good measure.Since 2006, I've played lead guitar in Buffalo Jones, a Spokane-based alternative rock band. We just released our fifth studio album, Celebrate, in September of 2025. I used to also play in a rock band called Plastic Saints that released one album, Evolved — of which I'm very proud — with them in 2008.As a solo-artist, I am currently playing acoustic shows around the Pacific Northwest. I also have a twelve-song album written — to be titled Icarus Also Flew — which I plan to record with a full band in the spring and release in fall of 2026! Works: Creative Writing

I started writing stories for fun sometime around 1987, though I can't say for sure. I can say for sure, however, that the first works I ever "published" appeared in the 1996 edition of "The Knight Writer," the creative writing journal for East Valley High School here in Spokane.Sine then, I went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Education, my Washington State teaching certificate endorsement in English Language Arts, and a Master of Arts degree in English and Creative Writing.Starting in 2018, I began freelancing professionally for various online publications and other clients. I put a lot of effort at that time into self-publishing my own short stories on my Wordpress site. Like any proper writer I have two novels in the works, but I've accepted that they may or may not ever be finished. I do sometimes still write blog style posts, but they've migrated to my Substack feed. Be sure to subscribe there to stay up to date on all things Brandonia!
